The Transportation Club of Detroit is a non-profit corporation.

Prior to 1984 it was known as the Traffic Club of Detroit.  In 1984, the Traffic Club of Detroit and the Motor City Traffic Club of Detroit merged to form the current Transportation Club of Detroit.

The purpose for which the TCD was organized is to promote and encourage the highest standards of education and technical competence among the members of the transportation industry.  The corporation is financed through gifts, grants, membership dues and any contributions of funds or property.

The TCD is organized on a membership basis; and is comprised of three (3) classes:

  • Regular Member – A person engaged in any activity involved in transportation. Annual dues set by the Board are $100.00.
  • Student Member – A person who is currently a student at any college or university. Annual Dues set by the Board are $20.00.
